I am thrilled to announce the marriage of Nick & Milou, now known as Mr & Mrs Bisschop!
I'm honoured to be able to share their Love Story with you...
This beautiful couple met for the first time in a local bar (De Gouverneur, Raalte) but only really spoke to each other at a later stage, during their yearly 'harvest' festival (Stoppelhane, Raalte).
Ever since that festival, the two were inseparable... and within two years of them being a couple, Nick secretly asked Milou's father for her hand in marriage before taking Milou on holiday to Bali.
One night during their holiday, they were sitting at a little temple on a pier which stretched into the sea and at sunset (the most romantic moment imaginable), Nick went down on one knee and asked Milou if she would become his wife.
Nick said that Milou's answer was a clear and overwhelming 'YES'!!! He could tell this from Milou's tears of joy and by the little happy dance she did before embracing him in a great big hug!
Their wedding was truly beautiful. With Milou's attention to detail and with the help of their Ceremoniemeester, Cato, it was always going to be a wedding to remember. From the invitations through to the little gifts the guests received when they went home, every single part of the day was personal and planned with the couple's taste and personalities in mind.
What stood out to me during their day was the special token in memory of Nick's mother. A beautiful bouquet of 70 white roses, which was placed on a pedestal and followed the festivities around all day. This was very special to Nick and very important to the couple.
Milou got ready at their home with close friends and mom present and Nick's preparations took place at his father's home with his brother and sister present.
The wedding and reception was at De Bagatelle, Marienheem and their Bridal Portraits were done before the wedding, at the beautiful Den Alerdinck, Laag Zuthem.
In spite of the burst of rain during the morning, it was a very beautiful and memorable day, the only downside was that Nick was not able to pick Milou up with the top down, in the convertible he got for her as a surprise. The weather did clear however, in time for them to arrive at their venue and in front of their guests, in their gorgeous wedding car with the top down :)
A big thank you goes out to these awesome companies that helped make Nick & Milou’s day so special and a special thanks goes out to Cato for her hard work as without her this day would not have run as smoothly as it did!

I asked Nick and Milou what their favourite part of their wedding was, which they found difficult to choose as they felt that the WHOLE DAY WAS FANTASTIC!!! But if they had to name a few, then the 'First Look' (when they saw each other for the first time in the morning), the ceremony, the speeches (during which Nick's brother and Milou's mother gave emotional and heartwarming speeches which had people in tears of laughter and joy... all at the same time), the little presentations by their family and friends (amongst who Milou's brother and Nick's friends Robin and Harry) and the party in the evening.
They said they were most nervous about the 'First Look' and the ceremony. Afterwards, they realised that there was nothing to be nervous about but that nerves were also part of the whole experience of such and important day.
This was the moment when Nick & Milou first saw each other:
Their reception was also pretty spectacular! Firstly Milou's brother surprised them with a very entertaining speech and some new additions (pets) to their new family... after which Milou surprised Nick with a second dress for the evening, a beautiful dance with her father and a choreographed dance with a her friends! Nick did not expect this at all!
After this... the dance floor openend with the song 'Everybody dance now' and the celebrations truly began!
Nick and Milou said that their wedding day was the most beautiful and special day that totally exceeded their expectations... And their advice for future couples planning their wedding:
"Neem je tijd voor alles" (take your time for everything....)
Please join me in congratulating Nick and Milou who have just returned from their honeymoon in Thailand and is about to start their beautiful life adventure together!
Here are a few highlights from their beautiful day:
